Started my project yesterday.  Had a slight accident while I was cutting the fabric.  Mother warned me about the rotary cutter - almost sliced off the tip of my finger!  I'm okay and so is my finger.

Here are some pictures.  I cut out the letters and 20 stars.  I also started cutting all of the fabric needed to complete these 3 blocks.  I hope to finish that effort this coming week while the weather is so bad here.

The first 3 letters and 20 stars.

I used orange batik for the stars.

Went to my favorite and local fabric shop - Quilter's Compass - on Saturday to look for some fabric to start my project.  Couldn't quite find what I was looking for so I decided to be adventurous.  I was looking for fabric that had sort of a confetti motif in it for the background and the letters.

Instead, I found a nice white batik with some faint swirls and the black fabric has small dots and pretty blue stars.

Here is what the project is about.  Each month, there is a different pattern or topic that helps to build the whole quilt.  The Quilt Show.  I have started this month's project - to create the letters A, F & G.

Hello & Happy New Year!

I have the quilting bug!!  My mom shared a TheQuiltShow site with me where I saw the Block of the Month project for this year.  I was very intrigued by this quilt designed by Janet Stone.

I have decided to follow along and either make the whole quilt or make portions of it as smaller quilts to be used to hang up.  For example, to take a letter and make a small hanging quilt for a person who's name begins with that letter.  Just a thought.

I also need something to do besides working! ;)

Before I could start a new project I needed to finish an old one.  I made this table runner on New Year's Day.
