A Doll Like Me!
Dear
Amy,
I was especially
inspired when I read the blog from Bernie at Needle and Foot about A Doll Like
Me. My mother passed away a couple of years ago and she was an avid
sewer/quilter. I had cleaned up a lot of her sewing things and had stored
away a bin of what I thought were scraps. They were WIPs. After
reading her blog, I went to the WIP bin to see what was there. I found
the Raggedy Ann & Andy fabric and after laying it out for a couple of days,
I decided to make 2 doll quilts out of the panels. I made one quilt and
have enough to make another quilt.
The other fabric
‘work-in-progress’ was the large block of squares. Some of the purple polka dot fabric was part
of a larger piece. I’m not sure what she
made from it, but there was the border print with the girls and I just loved
how it all came together.
As I get other ones
done, I’ll be sending them your way.
I have enjoyed
making these quilts and thinking about my mom.
Thank you very much for all that you do for these special children!!
With warm hugs for
all!
